Collection: Dilophosaurus

Dilophosaurus was a theropod dinosaur from the Early Jurassic period, about 193 million years ago. It's most famous for its distinctive two crests on its skull, possibly used for display or species recognition. Weighing around 400 kilograms and measuring up to 7 meters in length, Dilophosaurus was a formidable predator. It had strong, curved claws and sharp teeth, suggesting a carnivorous diet. Fossils primarily found in North America have shed light on its paleobiology, although many aspects of its lifestyle remain speculative.
